The HOT2000 software was designed to evaluate energy efficiency and is also currently being used for energy certification of houses and other buildings. Based on the HOT2000 program, HOT3000 was developed to help researchers and Canada’s residential construction industry advance the design of energy efficient and net-zero energy homes. HOT3000 builds on HOT2000 success by offering an hourly-based modeling tool which will allow it to better model up-and-coming technologies.

I understand that v. 9.34c must be used for modelling but that the publicly available software is 11.2b86. What are the differences and why is the "accepted model" not available to the general user.
